Entry for =kitton's Character Design contest. Purpose was to create a fantasy/sci-fi character, leaning more towards the former. Had to make up all these stats, too, so if you're wonderin' why Free's sheet is so detailed as compared to my other CD's, that is why.
Bare basic information is above. Personality: Free is a "professional" lockpicker; it's an odd skill, and it's basically the only special skill he has. He doesn't get the chance to use it often, but he boasts that he can pick any lock and break into any establishment, if given the opportunity. Grandmammy tells him it's a useless ability and beats him with her cane. She's a sweet old lady, honestly. Free is, in short, a Very Short Fuse - not a bad person at heart, but rough around the edges and very obviously lower-class. He snaps at anything and everything (except for Grandmammy because then she would pound him into a bloody pulp), and always seems irritated at something or other. For some reason, though, children seem to find him entertaining anyway: he's great to play tag with because if you pull on his tail he will chase you to Kingdom Come and back. He isn't a subtle sort of person either. He'll almost always say what he means, and while he isn't oblivious to sarcasm, he won't employ it himself. But he knows that the answer to that question is always, "No, Granny, that dress doesn't make you look fat." No matter what. He has never had a formal education, so he sucks at calculus. But hey, I suck at calculus. He's clever enough to make a living with what he has though. Not Einstein material, but fast on his feet and quick on the uptake. His morals are a little compromised. He does spend his time doing odd jobs around town (painting houses, fixing roofs, retrieving cats), but when there's not enough money for something, yeah sure, he'll resort to stealing. It's a fact of life, and higher judgement won't affect him until he's on his deathbed. Please, if he held his conscience that closely to his heart, he wouldn't be a 'lockpicker' in the first place. Notes: That's not a tattoo. It's a sort of birthmark. Like how lizards have markings. His skin is mostly normal, if a little dry and tough. In certain places, it's mottled with scales, however. If you chop off his tail, it will grow back. But, it will hurt like hell. He would also kill you. If he were an RPG character, he'd be one of those Speed-Attack stat party members (yes, even with that weight; inertia increases with mass, okay). Wouldn't tank or powerhouse, but he'd pull off a pretty nice combo. His hat is the dorkiest thing I have ever drawn in my entire life. I designed him like a game character, so that's why there's so many tiny details. Character (c) Yo. |

And the end of all our searching shall be to return to the place where we started and know it for the first time.

Some people live in boxes. I stand outside the box and kick it over 'cause it looked at me funny.
